Football Sunday

Nothing like a little football Sunday with Dylans bud/cousin Lorenzo! Eating some pizza, Halloween cookies, and playing while watching the games! Had a great time at the Castillo's!

Dylan's 2nd Bday, Giddy Up Partna'!

Wow, I can't believe it has been 2 years already! We had lots of fun celebrating our special cowboy's day with a wild west birthday bonanza! I was inspired by a co-worker of mines western party she had for her little buckaroo. Wendy Wise had some great ideas I used! We have had a lot of people ask us for pics or info on where we got the petting zoo and some of the decor, so I thought i'd post some pics and give some info.

Petting zoo was provided by Nettie's Party Pals. They truly were amazing! Their website has a lot more info/pics. They brought around 15 or so adorable animals and a mini horse (more options on site). Haystacks you can rent for under $5 each at Yorba Linda Feed Store (Kruse in La Habra also has them). I bought galvanized buckets to put peanuts in and to hold utensils, as well as mini chalkboard signs to label some of the food, at the dollar bin at Target. Gingham fabric at Joannes to cover the haystacks to be a little more comfy to sit on. Mason jars, from anywhere! Filled these with flowers and some with red vines for the dessert table. Bandannas and cowboy hats for all the kids were from Oriental Trading, along with the gingham plates and napkins and cow print balloons. Super cute rustic arrow chalkboard sign was from save on crafts site. Great to be able to re-use this for future parties and holidays.  To go with the theme, we served fried chicken, biscuits, wedges, cole slaw, and more! Yumm! Cow print cake was from Beverly's Best, of course! We've used them for a few years now and they have always made us beautiful looking (& amazing tasting) cakes.

Dylan really had such a blast and the look on his face when he woke up from his nap and saw all of the animals and mini horse in his backyard was priceless! This was a perfect bday gift for my little animal lover.

Chuck E Cheese's

This was the first time we brought Dylan back here since he was a month old his 1st time for my cousins bday. Fun family night! He loved the ski balls game best, even though he still got the lowest score possible even by cheating & directly walking up & placing the balls in the holes considering he preferred the large low slot worth zero points. He was a little young to get most games, but "playing" guitar hero with dad & just rocking out dancing to the chuckee music on stage was his favorite. Daddy decided to buy him a cool chuckee ball since he didn't get too many tickets on his ski ball game, which was worth it since he took a bath with the ball & is now also sleeping with it in his crib.

Hobbies...

Dylan has picked up some old man hobbies he loooves to do; playing golf, cleaning/organizing, and especially watering the plants & gardening. (seriously)

Fun Times at Discovery Science Center!

We went to check out the Dora the Explorer exhibit at the Discovery Science Center with Fernanda and Dylan's buddy Cole. The boys had a great time but we were all a little worn out fast since there were sooo many kids there! We forgot it was Spring Break! So fun to see them explore though!

My little Valentine

Dylan was the perfect little Valentine! He must have felt the love in the air because he was extra lovable & affectionate with me today and we had the best day together! He had his first big boy haircut, we treated him to lunch, and I was in heaven when I got to hold him & take a nap together today! He even gave me a beautiful album of highlights of his 1st year. I know that the day will come when he will not want his mommy to be his valentine as much as I would hope he will, but for now I am so happy to have him be my little date, along with all the great big hugs and kisses he gives me on days like today!

1st time at the LA Zoo!!

We took Dylan to the zoo for the 1st time with his bf Ethan and Jen and Eric. The boys had such a great time!! And so did Dylan and Ethan! haha just kidding :) They were very into seeing all the animals and had a great time riding the carousel. Dylan especially loved the giraffes and flamingos! We thought they would be tired by the end of the day, but Dylan and Ethan kept the party going in the car by headbanging, screaming and laughing almost all the way home! I'll try to post the video of that soon.
